Igor Mednikov
Registered Massage Therapist
With over 12 years of massage experience, Igor incorporates the styles of deep tissue and general relaxation. He also enjoys suggesting postural self-awareness, movement, stretching and strengthening techniques to improve patients’ activities in their daily lives.
With a passion for creating positive well-being in both his and other people’s lives, Igor completed his Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) training at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2015 with 3000 hours of clinical practice. Before RMT training he trained at the Vancouver School of Bodywork & Massage in 2010, with 700 hours of training.
Igor’s interest in massage therapy first began in Russia in the 80s, where as a teenager he practised soccer, swimming, track and field and judo. Between ages 12 to 16, while training for Judo 6 days a week, he discovered massage as a self-care technique and healing modality.
Throughout his athletic life and tree planting career, Igor experienced several musculoskeletal injuries ranging from muscle sprains, strains, spasms, postural muscle imbalances and weaknesses. This led him to learn more about how the body functions and how he could introduce more physical strength and balance into his life.
Igor worked at high-end spas in Vancouver and massage therapy clinics before he opened up his private practice in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada.
