To help people understand their body movements, I simply encourage patients to connect with their own natural movements.
If you can imagine that your body can bend forward, backwards, side to side, rotate, twist and move in a circular fashion you can essentially complete a full body work out or a stretch, by moving your own body weight. You can move you head your spine, arms, shoulder blades, elbows, wrists, fingers, legs, knees, ankles and toes in any direction you body permits.
Just remember that your body has the wisdom of natural movement and that movement helps your blood circulation which promotes nutrition to joints, muscles and organs.
Note: These blog posts are general ideas that I find could help people to cope with their daily aches and pains and muscle tension they are experiencing in their daily lives. Keep in mind that it is best to get a proper physical exam assessment with a therapist in order to meet your personal health goals. If you are seeking a diagnosis of an issue it’s best to see a medical doctor.
